Bioré Indonesia recently launches 2 sunscreen products: oil control (Matte) & tinted coverage (Bright). Fresh & Bright variant is enriched with Niacinamide & Vitamin E that helps skin fights against free radical with its anti-oxidant formula.

📝Texture: liquid-creamy, but feels sticky after applied imo

📝Coverage: Sheer, gives an instant glowy (and artificially bright) look

📝Finish: Semi-matte but creates several dry patches in dry spots area especially if you top it with powder/foundation (eventho the product is advertised "can be used as make up base")

📝Staying Power: Very good, long-wear

My Verdict?

🆗️The product performs well under heavy activity and sweat. Product performance stays long-wear and intact even when your skin was drenched in sweat. Practical; encased in a flip cap tube but the output hole is too big and often disperse too much product.

🆖️The tinted shade is too light especially for most medium skintone SE Asia woman. I can understand it's a tinted sunscreen, not a skin complexion product, but offers consumer a very limited and light shade range makes the product to be developed exclusively only for fair skintone.

The other downside beside its tinted light shade is its finish... it doesn't perform well with dry skin type but suitable for oily-type skin. It accentuates dry patches. Maybe I should try to prep the skin with moisturizer product then layer it with the sunscreen for maximum protection. I guess in my case... this product is a "pass".

When most bblogers raved about this product, Indonesian women still forget on how important sunscreen is to their skin's protection. Most women I met often skip the base/sunscreen application and directly to foundie/powder application which is still considered to be 'forgiven' due to their hectic schedule.

Another verdict from Japan product that has been all-raved due to its unconventional (& brilliant) texture & finish: Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery essence Water Base SPF 50+ PA+++ It's a micro-beads infused cream sunscreen that produced mainly with high coverage protection with SPF 50 to protect from UVB threat and PA+++ to prevent from stinging UVA for both face and body application.

Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery essence Water Base SPF 50+ PA+++ is available in leading drugstore/pharmacies in big city like Jakarta (I bought from Guardian) retailed for around IDR 125.000 with net weight 50g and Made in Japan. The product comes in sealed plastic seal all over the tube attached to its paper hanger. The information is mostly written in Japanese with additional info in English, but Indonesian version label is attached and covered the Japanese version. The Indonesian info is written below:

As you can see, the sunscreen cream is infused with micro-beads that will dissolve easily upon application. It absorbs quickly without much effort and doesn't leave gray-cast behind, unlike conventional sunscreen does, which adds more good point. The formula also has fruity-citrus fragrance which will diminish afterward and doesn't leave any stingy scent behind. The creamy-liquid leaves 'cool' sensation behind when first applied but doesn't last long.

Unlike Biore Mousse essence (you can read here) that can be used as make-up base, the Watery essence is prominently for UV-ray protection only for both face & body. However, you can use it as additional base/protection along with your favorite moisturizer. Doesn't leave any sticky feeling unlike conventional sunscreen.

My Verdict?

The rave is sounding true. The formula is sooo easy to apply without 'overly effort' atau tidak memerlukan tenaga dalam sewaktu memakainya. I was fell off the wagon and unconsciously grasp one when I found only one stock left on Guardian's rack like it's the last item in the world. Indonesia drugstores still import the product from Japan and when the stocks last we have to wait for some indefinite time. The tangy citrus scent is fine while the cool sensation also helps to reduce the excruciating feeling caused by redness/inflammatory due to sunburn which makes me head-over-heels with Japanese skin care products. I often applied it as substitution for make-up base or before foundation but the cream-liquid texture is little bit slide off my cream/liquid foundation yet I outwit it by tapping on the foundation instead of rubbing it. The good thing: the micro-beads dissolves quickly upon application and doesn't feel sticky at all. In sum, I love it <3 For more thorough review, you can check skinandtonics review. Bioré UV AQUA Rich: Watery Mousse Water Base SPF 50+

Japanese Make-up brand has been a pioneer in skin care and also decorative one, so there's no doubt to try one product to prove them right. So, when Biore Japan moisturizer finally distributed in Indonesia, I don't mind to have one.

First impression of Biore SKIN AQUA Rich Watery Mousse Water Base SPF 50+ / PA +++ is : it has a holy high (SPF 50+) formula. Unlike Indonesian skin care series which is ranged from SPF 15-25+ formula in it, Japanese confidently stay at ground with high level SPF 50+.

A glance of information about sunscreen:

Asian brands, particularly Japanese ones, tend to use The Protection Grade of UVA (PA) system to measure the UVA protection a sunscreen provides. The PA system is based on the PPD reaction and is now widely adopted on the labels of sunscreens. According to the Japan Cosmetic Industry Association, PA+ corresponds to a UVA protection factor between two and four, PA++ between four and eight, and PA+++ more than eight.

So, the higher SPF formula applied onto the skin, the less risk to obtain skin cancer caused by the UV ray radiation. Further more, sunscreen also helps to prevent wrinkles, sagging and dark spots in the skin caused by the UV ray. In addition, Japanese ladies are keen with their skin's appearance and condition thus product with higher-level of SPF is always on-the-go and best seller. Biore SKIN AQUA Rich: Watery Mousse Water Base SPF 50+ recently been distributed in Indonesia at several drugstores franchise and costs around IDR 100k plus. It is packaged in a plastic tube with a pointy tip and made from a lacquered plastic. Nett for 33 gr and travel friendly; but that's not its prominent point.

As you can see in the above picture info, there are 4 note-worthy points:

1. Strong UV block effect
2. Freshen & Hydrates
3. Creates pore soft focus
4. Make up base effect

The product works well with its high level sunscreen formula to protect the skin from UV ray and prevent dark-spot and 'sun burn' that could appear in the skin. Improved with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrates the skin's condition and Citrus essence to maintain skin's moisture. No wonder the cream spoiled you with a fresh and subtle citrus-y fragrant not like any other sunscreen product.

However, the make-up base effect actually caught my heart; the sunscreen cream finely gives a velvety make-up base. It gives a bit powdery-chalky finish and successfully covers skin's pore plus gives a long last light-weight feeling. Allergy tested and easily absorbs into the skin.

The cream is creamy with a bit of mousse texture; so tbh it is not a mousse texture at all. The pointy tip is also helpful to measure the amount of required cream. The only problem so far that it's a bit hard to squeeze the product out from the tube. Due to the texture of the cream so pea-sized cream is enough to cover allover face.

My Verdict?

As you can see the product immerse easily into the skin and creates a powdery finish + chalky result in which offers you a good base make-up. You can use it alone or built it with your daily foundation or just a dust of your favorite loose powder. The tangy orange fragrant also doesn't bother me at all; it is subtle and not too strong imho. The moisture formula ultimately works well with its water base formula to keep the skin supple and prevent it from dryness. Several trial totally satisfied me when I was out with an extreme heat out there at the beach *phew* and at the end of the day I couldn't find my face got sunburn or so on. The product gives me a 2-thumbs up for it's moisture formula and UV ray prevention, but instead of its featured formula like good make-up base, the whole benefits should be crowned after all. It gives you a supple skin, prevent from UV ray, creates a good make-up base and travel-friendly; all hail to Biore Watery Mousse Water Base. The only thing I dislike should be the price: it's a bit pricey for a small amount (33 gr) of product and hardly to be found all over Indonesia. So, when you're running out of product, you should run (not walk) to your nearest leading apothecary or department store. After all, I am definitely will put this all-it-can-do product on my stash.
