椎名林檎 - 長く短い祭
Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri (A long and short festival)Translated by RecoilingMrJoe
I am observing fireworks that connect the heaven and earth.
This is a meeting of the eternity and the moment.
We should never forget our summer.
I, releasing my incongruously cold body into the human heat, and subsequently flowing and being flown, am a little surprised to find myself in a quite distant place.
Life is ephemeral, is it not?
Not to mention our youth.
We are all leaders this night.
Heroes we are.
Each one of us wears a different costume.
Our make-up covers our free life force.
That we are just like the summer, we should never hide.
A somehow dejected heart, wandering in the human heat, and subsequently flowing and being flewn, is a little surplised to find itself in a quite distant place.
Eternity is arid, is it not?
Just a temporariness is elegant.
Our party, finally, reaches the height.
The climax has come.
Each one of us selects in all directions.
There are the scents of our powerful lives burning.
Because we are just like the summer, we should never wince.
How should we treat the transient best years of our woman’s life?
We can go nowhere in our present condition.
We are still flowers in full bloom, at our most sexually mature age, and in our best.
Just like large-flowered weeping willows.
Phantasmagorias of just one lives of ours revive
We should never let go of our summer.
How should we treat the ephemeral best years of our woman’s life?
We can never end in our present condition.
We are still flowers in full bloom, at our most sexually mature age, and at our best.
