STUDIO TROPIK is a local Indonesian brand that offers various range of skin care and skin-prep product with innovative formula. Their first product launch was the phenomenal multi-function primer spray, Priming Water, that won the heart of many makeup enthusiast since MUA Marlene Hariman often featured it in most of her works. The Original Priming Water believes to help preparing the skin before applying base make-up but also works to fix and refresh your make up. It helps to moisten & refresh the skin without altering the makeup.

Their innovation doesn't stop at the core of base makeup. They decided to step the game into skin care range by releasing various skin care product in a capsule collection: moisturizer, sunscreen, and toner water. When first released, Skin Barrier Cream was available in FRESH SKIN Barrier Cream (Normal-Oily skin) and RICH SKIN Barrier Cream ((Normal-Dry skin). Now it's available in BRIGHTER SKIN Barrier Pudding to help improve and brighten skin tone (Brightening formula).

The product comes in a light-weight, watery-cream texture, with greenish-translucent color. This variant has 2 size (15gr & 50gr), in which the biggest size encased in a sturdy tube with attached lid & detachable spatula, retailed for IDR 199.000/50gr. The tube is sturdy and has luxurious feeling. Fresh Skin variant has mint-green color to distinct it from the Rich Skin type. The attached lid is equipped with spatula to minimize contamination directly from fingertips.

My Verdict?

I love it. It feels like dipping your face into a pool of pudding. The texture of the cream is not heavy nor balmy cream; when they say "watery-creamy" it is true to its name, it's like a cream with high water concentration. It blends seamlessly when applied into your skin and melts so easily. The product helps to soothe my redness and give a plumpy feeling instantly. However, if you put too much product it makes your skin feels a bit siliconey or slippery. I prefer to apply it only in the night time to give my skin a "spa-time". INNISFREE Green Tea Seed Serum

Recently I'm into skin care product but in contrary not so keen to review them out.

Why? Because it takes hundred hours of test and at least days to jot down the result and verdict. Somehow, let's discuss a bit about popular product from environment-concern brand from Korea; Innisfree. Innisfree is famous for their skin care product derived from natural ingredients and made to ensure the sustainability of the environment or so we called it 'eco-concern' product. 

This product is labeled as 'one of Innisfree best seller' (not too exaggerate it) due to its moisturizing and nourishing ingredients which penetrates instantly into the skin and leaves a supple & smooth feeling behind.

Yup, it seems Innisfree description already helps us to figure out the product, so I won't waste your time anymore *because I'm too lazy, lol* and proceed to take a look insight about the product's verdict.

Korean are known for crazily-obsessed-skin care addict due to high-expectation to be accepted within society; that's why 5 or 7-steps skin care regime is normal to keep your outlook fresh.

This Green Tea line, has 7 products sequence, it starts with Green Tea Seed Serum and respectively ends with Green Tea Pure Mineral Mist as seen on photo above.

Just a simple card-box packaging; an eco-concern minded concept to ensure the quality of the tube inside with brief information about the product written in Korean. The serum liquid itself has 80ml nett product encased in a plastic tube with pumped tip, by all means a thick plastic tube, I repeat, not a sturdy one. I found myself surprised with the quality of the tube, it looks slightly cheap comparing to glass tube like Laneige has. However, there's always the good side; it's travel friendly and handy for your travel companion. Bought it from @beautyglowing shop for IDR 250.000.

SWATCH

A runny liquid products which penetrates quickly within 1 minute. The liquid texture is runny, absorbs quickly and leaves a subtle floral fragrance behind. If you're hesitate with fragrance-oriented product you might skip this product BUT the product's moisturizing and nourishing formula is too bad to be missed. It instantly gives you a supple and smooth skin without making it look greasy and damp like Hada Labo does. Just a single pump of the serum followed by rubbing movement against each palm to disperse the liquid with your own body heat and patting the product into your face. Your body heat helps to penetrate the ingredients deeply into epidermis layer. 

My Verdict?

Haven't seen noticeable change from using this product since I randomly juggling it between Laneige serum and SK-II FTE. At least, Innisfree Green Tea Seed serum is a good product if you have sensitive skin like mine; never found any side-effect after applying this product and I love how it instantly leaves a supple and smooth skin behind within a minute. If you're looking for budget-worthy moisturizing product, you might try this product. Oh ya, it might be a good idea to apply it before applying your make-up to help moisten your skin and prep-up before applying your base make-up product. Barely forget to do it in the past but surely I will try it in the future.

Laneige's most popular skin care product: Water Bank Essence is available in town.

First of all, the product is given by Laneige Indonesia as a flatlay Instagram contest present; THANK YOU! ^^ They declare it as their most featured product globally. Laneige, which means "Snow" in French, is a middle-up range skin care and decorative make-up brand from South Korea under Amore Pacific. Primarily, their focus is the skin care series which optimize the power and benefit of water technology, as they claimed to be "Water Science", to achieve clear and supple skin (Source). Supported by the innovation of water technology, Laneige believes to create Sparkling Beauty for every woman in the world. However, the new improved formula is called "Water Bank_EX", so wherever you found "EX" which means the successor of the initial Water Bank series.

SWATCH

As you can see, the product texture is creamy-liquid which is runny and penetrates easily onto the skin. Your natural body temperature helps to infiltrate the creamy-liquid quickly and leaves no sticky feeling behind; more likely supple and velvety. It is heavily fragrant with floral scent but evaporates swiftly upon application. You just need to apply it onto your moisturized skin after cleansed in 2-3 pumps amount of product and enjoy the result.

The Water Bank series is formulated with Laneige's Water Science technology, including the Water Pump System and Optimal Mineral Water to intensively circulate moisture deep within skin, while regenerating and fortifying skin cells for healthy hydrated skin and maintaining supple and moisturized skin. It is categorized as "Hydrating Product" without any other specific formula such whitening nor tightening purpose.

My Verdict?

I have a sensitive skin but Laneige doesn't fail to impress me. Even though it's heavily induced with floral fragrant but it doesn't irritate my skin. The creamy-liquid easily absorbs onto the skin and leaves supple and velvety feeling. Now I understand why this product becomes globally most popular product from Laneige since it helps to moisturize your skin while maintaining its moisture upon application. Been religiously using it for 2 weeks and feel so impressed by the result. It doesn't have whitening nor extra benefit formula but it does a great job in moisturizing your skin. However, the counter prize might choke you *haha* so if you planning to invest in this product, you'd better save some money and use the product wisely. However, Indonesian has special term saying: "Ada harga, ada kualitas" which means "the price never lies". Personally, instead of other Korean skin care brands/products, I'd better invest in Laneige's product since my oh-so-sensitive-and-spoiled-skin needs extra attention.

Oh, forgot to recount you about my experience in 'observing' Laneige counter in Seibu, Grand Indonesia in Jakarta. The Laneige counter is designed and dominated in white and chic looking concept and currently display the popular Serum Intense Lipstick and Water Drop Tint along with other latest products which became a hit in their home country. Bioré UV AQUA Rich Watery essence Water Base SPF 50+ PA+++

When most bblogers raved about this product, Indonesian women still forget on how important sunscreen is to their skin's protection. Most women I met often skip the base/sunscreen application and directly to foundie/powder application which is still considered to be 'forgiven' due to their hectic schedule.

Another verdict from Japan product that has been all-raved due to its unconventional (& brilliant) texture & finish: Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery essence Water Base SPF 50+ PA+++ It's a micro-beads infused cream sunscreen that produced mainly with high coverage protection with SPF 50 to protect from UVB threat and PA+++ to prevent from stinging UVA for both face and body application.

Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery essence Water Base SPF 50+ PA+++ is available in leading drugstore/pharmacies in big city like Jakarta (I bought from Guardian) retailed for around IDR 125.000 with net weight 50g and Made in Japan. The product comes in sealed plastic seal all over the tube attached to its paper hanger. The information is mostly written in Japanese with additional info in English, but Indonesian version label is attached and covered the Japanese version. The Indonesian info is written below:

SWATCH

As you can see, the sunscreen cream is infused with micro-beads that will dissolve easily upon application. It absorbs quickly without much effort and doesn't leave gray-cast behind, unlike conventional sunscreen does, which adds more good point. The formula also has fruity-citrus fragrance which will diminish afterward and doesn't leave any stingy scent behind. The creamy-liquid leaves 'cool' sensation behind when first applied but doesn't last long.

Unlike Biore Mousse essence (you can read here) that can be used as make-up base, the Watery essence is prominently for UV-ray protection only for both face & body. However, you can use it as additional base/protection along with your favorite moisturizer. Doesn't leave any sticky feeling unlike conventional sunscreen.

My Verdict?

The rave is sounding true. The formula is sooo easy to apply without 'overly effort' atau tidak memerlukan tenaga dalam sewaktu memakainya. I was fell off the wagon and unconsciously grasp one when I found only one stock left on Guardian's rack like it's the last item in the world. Indonesia drugstores still import the product from Japan and when the stocks last we have to wait for some indefinite time. The tangy citrus scent is fine while the cool sensation also helps to reduce the excruciating feeling caused by redness/inflammatory due to sunburn which makes me head-over-heels with Japanese skin care products. I often applied it as substitution for make-up base or before foundation but the cream-liquid texture is little bit slide off my cream/liquid foundation yet I outwit it by tapping on the foundation instead of rubbing it. The good thing: the micro-beads dissolves quickly upon application and doesn't feel sticky at all. In sum, I love it <3 For more thorough review, you can check skinandtonics review.
