LANEIGE Snow BB Cushion 21 Natural Beige

Since late 2014, thanks to K-Drama, BB Cushion craze goes viral and starts inspiring and even makes high-end brand copying its concept.

Laneige, a premium Korean makeup brand, has proven a noticeable endeavor for Korean beauty industry by gaining popularity in short time and offering an endless innovative product with great quality. The BB Cushion craze was started about 3 years ago when BB cream popularity is climbing up the sales and Korean beauty industry starts to invent and introduce a new way to applying BB Cream; the BB Cushion. The concept is almost same like wearing compact powder by patting the (liquid) product's using a puff.

Nowadays many Korean, even non-Korean brands also following this concept; let's name it high-end brands like YSL, Shu Uemura, Lancome, etc recently starts to follow the trend and release their own BB Cushion product.

Laneige Snow BB Cushion is the old version of the latest Laneige BB Cushion 6 in 1 formula. Snow BB Cushion comes in 4 shades available, retailed for IDR 430.000 (mean while I got it as freebies), sold with 1 pack of case + 2 refills in one package and available throughout Laneige stores in Indonesia. It is called 'cushion' because the BB liquid comes inside the BB liquid sponge and packed separately from the puff applicator. The available shades are:

#13 True Beige : The beige color for light skin tone

#21 Natural Beige : The calm natural beige for light-natural skin tone

#23 Sand Beige : The sand beige for tanned skin tone

#31 Brown Beige : The brown beige for darker skin tone

However, when I tried to check into Laneige Indonesia official website, Snow BB Cushion product is no longer available :O Could it be Snow BB Cushion is already off the market?

The BB Cushion case comes in a white, lacquered-plastic case with retractable refill, mirror, and separated compartment for the puff. The shade number and manufacturing date can be seen in the bottom of the refill/case. It has 15 g nett content, made in Korea exclusively by Amore Pacific corp and expires until 12 month after opening the guarantee lid.

As you can see, the Laneige Snow BB Cushion comes in a retractable refill, so when the liquid product has running out, you can change the refill inside. You can't change the refill with refill from other brands since Laneige Snow BB Cushion case won't fit with other product's refill. Laneige blue bb cushion puff is also different than common puff; it is made from Rubycell dan Polyurethane and has more power to pick up and deliver the product into your skin. The spherical powder with similar refraction rate as the skin controls oil absorption and light diffusion to prevent excess shine and creates a natural and clean skin tone with medium to heavy coverage.

Glowy, dewy finish and waterproof

One layer will give you enough coverage, dewy and glowy finish and waterproof formula against sweating.

Long-lasting makeup

Stays up-to 12 hours. Thanks to strong high-molecules that prevents the sweat and sebum from wearing off the makeup from the skin's surface.

Can you see the pores? It looks like lotus seed and if you are trypophobia person then you might not stare it too long. The pores contain and hold the liquid BB Cream to stay on the refill's sponge. You can only transfer the liquid using Laneige's BB cushion puff by patting the puff into the refill's sponge and dab it directly into your skin. Do not stroking the puff because it might cause the product not adheres and blends well with the skin. Remember, DAB it not stroke it. Here's a look of the product.

My Verdict?

So, let's talk about the pigmentation wise first; 21 Natural Beige is not natural at all. As you can see it's lighter than my skin-tone due to its high SPF formula (as one of the ingredients that could reflect light). I need to lightly dab the product so it won't look too contrast with my skin-tone or choose deeper shade. The coverage is medium to heavy depends on your desire, just dab it more for more coverage. The finish is dewy and also gives you glowy-healthy look like those K-stars artist *lol*. It feels light-weight, covers redness, dark spots and uneven skin well. The cool sensation is the characteristic of this product, you might feel a cool sensation when apply it but don't worry it will evaporate after seconds. Water-proof, stays well against sweat, and has an intense floral fragrance (that might disturb for people who doesn't like strong fragrance). Overall, the product's formula and staying power is OK, but based on my experience, after 2-3 hours it starts to create excess oil and feel bit greasy. However, if you blot away the sebum/excess oil using oil paper, the coverage still lingers on. LANEIGE Water Drop Tint Rose Mauve x Coral Peach

Another sneak peak from Laneige's best product in different shade; Water Drop Tint in 'Coral Peach'.

You might have read my previous review about Laneige Water Drop Tint in Rose Mauve before, in case you missed it you can read it again here. In short, Laneige Water Drop Tint is a great find if you want a luscious, plump lips with glossy finish. This lip product gives you a moistful and watery effect with great dense-opacity. 

The good news: Laneige is now available in Indonesia! You can check directly to their off-line counter or head to some beauty-web portal which offers their selected products like Sociolla, Sephora, etc.

Water Drop Tint is available in 10 shades, comes in a handy tube and a water-drop shape applicator. It is retailed for Won 22.000 or IDR 220.000 but when I try to check again in their Korean web, Water Drop Tint products no longer available! :O

I'm not going to persuade you to buy this product, but really, this is one of the greatest glossy tint ever invented. The comparison shade will be between Rose Mauve and Coral Peach; any texture, finish, or product's formula already reviewed before, so this post will review briefly about the product pigmentation.

As you can see, the shade is visible from the bottom of the tube; the left tube 'Coral Peach' whereas the right tube is 'Rose Mauve'.

Coral Peach is a warm, true orange that looks striking bold in the applicator but turns surprisingly softer upon swatch. Whereas, Rose Mauve is a vibrant Magenta with red base that also looks softer when stroked. However, based on my experience the pigmentation of Peach Coral is more weak than Rose Mauve; it doesn't give opaque coverage or noticeable shade especially for people with pigmented lips (like mine). If you pay attention to the Chency's comparison here, Peach Coral is the deepest orange color available for this product. Maybe, people with pale lips brings out the color better than pigmented lips.

As you can see, both shades are versatile enough for daily or working environment, it also leaves a nice stain when rubbed off so you only lost the glossy-watery finish but not the tint color. The longevity is normal, no shimmery/glittery particles within and fragrance-free.

My Verdict?

Laneige Water Drop Tint is such an awesome product; it gives you a nice stain, watery finish but not sticky, grossy, oily feeling unlike typical lip gloss. It's a must try item if you never try one; comparing to other high-end products, Laneige Water Drop Tint wins in every aspect. I hope my prediction is wrong, but if Laneige Korea does pull off this product from the market then they are doing it wrong. It's an impeccably glossy-tint product I've ever tried. So, if you're looking for deep shade then go towards vibrant shades like magenta/red but if you love fun and eye-catching color (but bear with the weak pigmentation) then try peach coral. Laneige's most popular skin care product: Water Bank Essence is available in town.

First of all, the product is given by Laneige Indonesia as a flatlay Instagram contest present; THANK YOU! ^^ They declare it as their most featured product globally. Laneige, which means "Snow" in French, is a middle-up range skin care and decorative make-up brand from South Korea under Amore Pacific. Primarily, their focus is the skin care series which optimize the power and benefit of water technology, as they claimed to be "Water Science", to achieve clear and supple skin (Source). Supported by the innovation of water technology, Laneige believes to create Sparkling Beauty for every woman in the world. However, the new improved formula is called "Water Bank_EX", so wherever you found "EX" which means the successor of the initial Water Bank series.

SWATCH

As you can see, the product texture is creamy-liquid which is runny and penetrates easily onto the skin. Your natural body temperature helps to infiltrate the creamy-liquid quickly and leaves no sticky feeling behind; more likely supple and velvety. It is heavily fragrant with floral scent but evaporates swiftly upon application. You just need to apply it onto your moisturized skin after cleansed in 2-3 pumps amount of product and enjoy the result.

The Water Bank series is formulated with Laneige's Water Science technology, including the Water Pump System and Optimal Mineral Water to intensively circulate moisture deep within skin, while regenerating and fortifying skin cells for healthy hydrated skin and maintaining supple and moisturized skin. It is categorized as "Hydrating Product" without any other specific formula such whitening nor tightening purpose.

My Verdict?

I have a sensitive skin but Laneige doesn't fail to impress me. Even though it's heavily induced with floral fragrant but it doesn't irritate my skin. The creamy-liquid easily absorbs onto the skin and leaves supple and velvety feeling. Now I understand why this product becomes globally most popular product from Laneige since it helps to moisturize your skin while maintaining its moisture upon application. Been religiously using it for 2 weeks and feel so impressed by the result. It doesn't have whitening nor extra benefit formula but it does a great job in moisturizing your skin. However, the counter prize might choke you *haha* so if you planning to invest in this product, you'd better save some money and use the product wisely. However, Indonesian has special term saying: "Ada harga, ada kualitas" which means "the price never lies". Personally, instead of other Korean skin care brands/products, I'd better invest in Laneige's product since my oh-so-sensitive-and-spoiled-skin needs extra attention.

Oh, forgot to recount you about my experience in 'observing' Laneige counter in Seibu, Grand Indonesia in Jakarta. The Laneige counter is designed and dominated in white and chic looking concept and currently display the popular Serum Intense Lipstick and Water Drop Tint along with other latest products which became a hit in their home country.
