Shiseido ANESSA Perfect Essence Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++

It's one of those days when Sunscreen is often forgotten.

Wearing sunscreen can be burdensome for some people; some find it inefficient and annoying yet religiously wearing sunscreen will help to prevent your skin from unwanted aging signs. Repeat after me: sunscreen will protect your skin from unwanted and unseen UV rays exposure which will destroy your skin condition in the future. By ignoring the tiresome practice of wearing sunscreen, your future self will thank you for all the effort you have done in the past. One day, one of our Korean office  mate gave us a gift which turns out as, to my surprise, one of Japanese infamous Shiseido Anessa Sunscreen! For far-east Asian people, wearing sunscreen is a must-do since they are beyond concern when walking about their skin condition. So, what's this infamous sunscreen does?

The description written above (taken from the box) is fair enough to explain the product's information. It turns out this jelly-like sunscreen has 3 different sizes: 25gr, 60gr, 90gr (limited edition) and mine is repackaged version from the previous 2014 version. Anessa product offers a water-resistant, jelly-like texture cream and doesn't leave white-streak or mark upon application. Feels smooth and hydrating without making it (noticeable) sticky feeling behind. I utterly write 'noticeable' to make it clear that based on my past 2 weeks personal experience wearing this sunscreen, it turns out the product's formula is surprisingly difficult to blend well with my foundation. It gives the foundation finish more greasy, bit oily and lessen the coverage power than the usual application does.

However, this sunscreen blends and absorbs quickly when applied onto the skin while it takes no waiting time after you slather it into the skin.Yes, it feels light weight and doesn't feel sticky unless you try to blend it your foundation. Doesn't leaves white-mark behind and water resistant, suitable for both indoor or outdoor activity. A close-up swatch shown below.

The cream is encased in a flattened compact plastic-tube with twisted pointy tip to control the dispensed  amount required and decorated with typical Anessa's sun trade mark.

My Verdict?
No wonder this sunscreen becomes the best-selling and popular sunscreen both in Japan and Korea; this light-weight and non-sticky sunscreen gives you maximum protection without those inconvenient and sticky finish feeling like other sunscreen does. Too bad this sunscreen doesn't blend well with my foundation; it creates greasy, oilier finish and lessen coverage formula of the foundation rather than when the foundation is applied alone. If you want to blend this sunscreen together with foundation, I suggest you to leave it absorbs well for more 10-15 minutes to let the formula sink deeper to the epidermis layer then continue wearing your foundation as usual.
